Flowers for the Sanders…I mean Sandra

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Sandra, you will get a kick out of this one. Today, FINALLY, the floor contractors were able to begin sanding and staining the wood floors at the new house. Also today was my visit from Ms. Sandra, my nurse. This evening while Sandra was at the house, Drew and Michael went to the NEW house to make sure the floor guys had locked the house up. While there Drew picked some flowers. They get in the car to come home and Drew asks Michael, “Are Sanders still there?” Michael said, “No, I think they have already went home.” Drew starts to get upset about SANDRA leaving because he had picked her flowers. Then it hit Michael that Drew wasn’t asking about the floor SANDERS, but SANDRA.

What makes a good spiderman drawing?

The other day Drew informed me that he can “draw the best Spidermans of everybody!” I asked, “Really? How do you know?” As it turns out he draws his Spidermen with 5 fingers and the other kids draw him with 3 fingers.

“Do you know how you spell Michael? D-A-D-D-Y.” Drew said this matter of fact and quite proud of himself. How could we correct him??

Drew has always insisted that Michael is brown and mommy is white. For those of you that don’t know us, Michael is of Italian descent, so he has olive like complexion, but isn’t that dark. We have always found this pretty funny. This morning during the unveiling of the Easter basket and eating chocolate. Drew tells Michael that he knows why he is brown, “You eat so much chocolate.” At this I cracked up laughing, and got reprimanded by Drew, “It is not funny.”

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

A Chick named Hollow.

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

I have these large eggs that I bought for decoration. Somehow, I can’t imagine how :-) Drew got a hold of one. He would look at it…shake it…he has even built a nest for it. He finally asked what is in it?! Michael told him that it was hollow inside. Now Drew is convinced that there is a little chick named Hollow in there and he wants him out really bad! I wonder, if Hollow comes out maybe he can play with Chuther?

Serious George and Drew’s friend Chuther

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

This is one I’ve been meaning to post for a while. Drew for the longest would call Curious George…Serious George. I think he has now become known to Michael and I as Serious George.

Drew has a new friend named Chuther. He likes to play with ‘Chuther’. “Daddy, you want to play with ‘Chuther? We can roll the ball with ‘Chuther.” Translation….’Chuther=Each Other.

Buffey who?

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

My identity changes everyday…I used to be Buffey and then I became Mommy. Today I encountered a new one. I was in Walmart…by myself. As I was grabbing a variety of different cheeses…a little girl says, “Are you Drew’s Mommy?” I just smiled and said, “Yes, I am.” She, a 3 year old, then introduced me with no prompting to her ‘Sissy’ and Daddy. Then proceeded to tell me how her sister called the guy that works in the meat department a Meatball Head. I know some of you will think I’m being silly but I just found that so cute…”Are you Drew’s Mommy?”

How does he get in!?!

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Today at the new house, we were walking around. Checking out the progress and such. One of the new additions was the fire box was put in. While Michael and I were looking at things, Drew with his head poked in the fire box hollers, “HOW IS HE GOING TO GET IN!?” Because it is ventless there is no hole…”uhhhh…don’t worry, he’ll get in. He can unscrew these screws here.” You know who HE is.

Drew’s first joke

“What is a dog and a rooster? A cock-a-poodle-doo”

What exactly do they learn in daycare these days?

Sunday, March 15th, 2009

Well, the Jerk, the Swim and the Twist of course…at 4 years old!!! Isn’t that funny? Yesterday, Drew asks Michael, “Daddy, do you know how to do the jerk?” Uh, what? Drew starts moving his arms in and out. “What about the Twist?” “The Swim?” After each question he showed him how to do the ‘moves’. This morning I asked him to show me and I asked him where he learned this. “At school.” I can’t wait to ask Ms. Trish if she can give a demonstration. Michael is now working on teaching him the cabbage patch and running man. HA! Michael would be the one to teach it cause his mommy has no groove!

The big blizzard of 2009

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

Yuck! I really dislike snow. Of course all kids (and Michael) LOVE snow. Drew has been running to the window to check out the progress. One thing he pointed out that was so cute was that our birdhouse now looked like a gingerbread house!

Part II…I’ll have to post the video later, but we had a blast playing in the snow today. First go round, Drew and Michael built a snowman, Road…that’s his name. Go Figure?! After we thawed out we went back out and had a snowball fight, made snow angels. Michael even made a big Daddy Snow Angel. By the time we were through we had a snow angel family! The best of all was Michael pulling Drew and I on the garbage can lid. That was COOL! Drew and I could have sledded all day. (Is sledded a word?) Michael on the other hand could not pull us all day. He is still nauseated from all that work! haha!
